Although I did not grow up farming, I have seen how much hard work it takes and how vital farmers are to our community. We owe so much to our farmers and I want to ensure that they can still afford their farm and the equipment they need.</li><li>My dad has been a teacher for the past 30+ years. Through him I have learned the struggle teachers in our community face. This is why I think it is essential that they are protected to ensure every generation of students can have a quality education.</li><li>The first job I have ever had was pouring concrete with my dad. It is from this experience that I learned that hard work isn't easy. Yet I still help out every now and then because I enjoy the hard work.</li></ul>

Meet Owen

I believe that democracy works only when the people's voice is heard. In this time of polarization it seems politicians have lost sight of this. Instead of focusing on issues that directly impact the working class, we have become divided on culture war issues, which only distract us from the struggles the average person faces in their daily life. This is why I want to hear from as many of you as possible. So that I can take your concerns with me to the Capitol to ensure that working class needs are met and not just the needs of big business.

Through sports I learned the value of hard work and what it takes to be successful, not just individually, but as a team. In high school I achieved 3rd place individually at state for wrestling my sophomore year. The following year I helped Perham reach 3rd place as a team at the state wrestling tournament. Additionally I ran cross country where I was fortunate to be part of Minnesota history where we were able to win state three years in a row both girls and boys.

Importance of Team Work

As a gun owner, I understand people's concerns about their 2nd amendment rights. What is missing from the conversation is why people feel the need to protect themselves and I believe it stems from a distrust of the government. In order to have conversations about responsible gun policies we first need to re-establish trust between the people and OUR government.

Virtually every developed country has shown that universal health care is doable. Not only is it doable but it also leads to better health care out comes. It is the government's responsiblity to provide for its citizens and I believe it is well past time for universal health care in this country if we want to continue being the greatest nation in the world.

Healthcare is a human right.Healthcare should not be determined by how much money a person has. Everyone deserve to live a healthy life and get the healthcare they need without fear of financial ruin. Virtually every developed country offers some form of free healthcare for its citizens. So then why, in the world's richest country, do we not have the same? This is why I will support affordable healthcare at the state level.

Universal Health Care

<ul><li>Jumpstart construction of more starter homes to create more housing choices through public investment and policy reforms</li><li>Ban corporate ownership of single family homes</li><li>Stop landlords price fixing schemes to increase rents, hurting the working class</li><li>Relieve property tax pressure on local governments and residents</li></ul>

The cost of housing continues to become more unaffordable year over year. The reason for this is simple. Housing in America is not seen as a basic necessity but instead is seen as an investment. Meaning corporations buy up all the available housing in order to rent it out for a profit or hold on to it so they can sell it for a profit which increases the already high cost of living for the working class. Instead I believe that single family homes should be owned by single families.

Affordable Housing

When talking about abortion, the conversation typically revolves around when the fetus becomes a life. I believe this framing lacks nuance which is vital when talking about health care procedures. Abortion is not a desision that is decided on a whim and often times is very traumatic for an expecting mother.
